The
Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) Donation Program grew out
of Microsoft's growing awareness of the importance of computer
refurbishing and reuse in nonprofits and schools as well as for
people on the wrong side of the digital divide. Through the
program, Microsoft provides donated Windows 98 and Windows 2000
operating systems to nonprofit PC refurbishers. MAR was created
to fulfill the needs of refurbishers, nonprofits and schools to
equip donated computers with affordable operating systems. MAR
works with U.S.-based nonprofit computer refurbishers that
recycle donated PCs for nonprofits, public libraries, and K-14
schools. The CACRC is licensed under the MAR agreement.
